A sunset wedding @ Sergeants Mess

For those that have been to Sergeants Mess, Chowder Bay you will be familiar with the modern and nostalgic yet understated decor of their reception room. Think luscious button back velvet Taupe chairs, floor to ceiling views of the stunning harbour and a space finished in only the finest fixtures. That is where our brief was born for this luxurious wedding created for the amazing Katherine.

The styling itself started with a colour palette of Champagne and Black - classic and always stylish! We then began to create the room elements around this starting with using our Champagne & Black stripe napkin. The luscious arrangements sat in crystal bowls framed with crystal and carved candlesticks to match.

The ceremony was a simple canopy set up draped with ruffled Taupe linen curtains and finished with a length of scalloped French lace (every brides must have!). We chose our vintage cane armchairs to seat the crowd and lined the aisle with rattan stake baskets filled with a soft candle light and dressing of Ivy - just enough for this sunset occasion.

  1. Another wedding chair decor idea is to make Just Married signs and place them on the back of the bride and groom chairs. For our wedding, we took two photos,

  2. This looks awesome! I just got proposed by my boyfriend of six years (future husband), and we’re getting married in a few months. Right now I’m just taking it all in and thinking my next step. I would really like to find a similar event space San Francisco has.
